Hello again!!
Whew! I realize it has been FOREVER since I've posted. Time has a way of getting away from me! We have been very busy, and fall is no exception. So, what is new? Hmmm... Bethany is a senior this year, so busy talking about/considering colleges. Paige is homeschooled, and also enjoying high school band this year. We're busy with marching competitions this time of year. Shannon has returned to school this year (4th grade) and is doing very well. Lily goes to preschool 3 days a week and loves it. Mia keeps Paige and I busy here at home the rest of the time. Time is (always) in short supply, I'm going to go straight to posting a few photos from the past few months. Enjoy!

Smiley Mia
Mia is such a happy girl. Since she is now walking all over the place, she is happy most of the time. She zips around looking for something new to get into. Of course, this makes my job more challenging. She also has a new word. The only intelligible words she said to this point were mama and dada. She babbles a lot, and you can tell she is now trying to turn this babble into words. Yesterday Paige and I were having a conversation about books, and she is sitting on my lap, and out of the blue, says "book!" It was so cute! So, we got a book, and she carried it around saying "book." This morning after she got up, the first thing she said was book! Very cute and funny! I'm not sure she knows what this word means, because everything she touches she says book, but it sure is cute to hear her little voice making words!
Mystery Solved
For the last couple of years, we have periodically been losing dvd's. This has completely baffled and frustrated me. I hate to lose things! This past week, we've been doing some rearranging of tv's/dvd players. As we were moving the dvd/vcr combo, we discovered it had a rattle. Out came Charlotte's Web! A couple of days later, as we were hooking it all up, it was rattling again. With some investigation, we found SIX MORE dvd's inside! They were in the vcr side of the machine. The most frustrating of all was the Smallville disc, as the girls had borrowed this from friends. After exhausting all leads as to where this disc could be, we bought the entire season last spring, in order to replace the one disc that was lost ($40!). Of course, Lily is being blamed for this, and she has no idea what anyone is talking about! We will have to watch Charlie and the Chocolate Factory soon, as we've missed this one most of all!

Chatter
I don't usually just chat on here, but thought I would just babble about our lives today! I have extra time today, as Paige and Shannon are off all day on a field trip with friends. That means-no school for me! After a late start today due to weather, it is looking like we may get another snow day on Wed. What a winter this has been! This morning, as I was watching the news at 5:30, we had a thunder/lightning storm, accompanied by a short stretch of freezing rain. Yesterday we got 4-5 inches of snow, and another possible 6+ is predicted tomorrow afternoon into Wed. Very weird (and loooong) winter we have had! They may not get out of school until mid-June at this rate! Mia is walking more and more. It is so fun to watch her gain more confidence every day with it. She is also more personable and content all the time. It is fun watching her bloom into a toddler. Her sleep has been erratic. She has 1-2 solid nights of sleep, followed by several restless nights. Not exactly sure what the key to this is. She is still struggling with the cold, but it is improving. It has been 2 weeks now, so it is time to move on with the runny nose. Thank you so much to our faithful friends and family in praying for our family. You don't know how much we appreciate it. It is quite an interesting mix of ages/phases we are going through all the time around here, that it can be emotionally exhausting some days. Especially with all the hormones flying around this house on a give day! Yesterday my parents zipped over for the day. It was so fun to see them. Unfortunately, I once again did not take photos. Picture taking is not something I think of or do well, so if someone else doesn't take the initiative, it usually doesn't get done. We had a fun time. They had quite a time getting home following our afternoon snow. They weren't expecting that, so it really slowed them down. Thankfully, they made it home safe and sound. I have been wanting to go out of town for an overnight visit sometime soon, but am hesitant to mess with Mia's sleep patterns even more. Not sure how it would go. I may just have to try it sometime, and if it is disaster, I know that she isn't ready, I guess. Well, I need to go enjoy play time with my 2 littles today. I'm looking forward to it!
Dress Shopping
Prom plans are in full swing for Bethany and her friends. I enjoyed a fun day of shopping on Saturday with Bethany, Paige and 3 of Bethany's friends. I had such a good time hanging with my big girls. The littles enjoyed a fun day at home with Dad. I won't post a photo of the actual dress that we bought for Bethany. I'll wait until I have a prom photo in a couple of months.

Snapshots
Hi Everyone! Sorry that I have not been keeping up with the blog lately! I am going to try to find time later this weekend to back track with some birthday/Christmas photos. In the meantime, here a few snapshots from recently. Bethany has been trying out a new hair straightener, and she really likes "taming the frizz," but it takes a lot of time, so she doesn't get it done very often. Of course, when she did, she had to take several photos of herself! Mia is doing really well, although this has been one long week. Mia has been sick with a TERRIBLE cold all week, so she (and I) hardly sleep at all. It is really catching up with me, and I've had a dizzy day, I assume due to lack of sleep. I would really appreciate prayers for this to pass soon, so we can catch up on sleep. Not sure how long a little one this age can go on with so little sleep. I'm also not sure that her lack of sleep is due completely to this sickness. She may be developing some sleep issues, which would not be all that unusual at this point in her adjustment/attachment with us. She sleeps soundly if we hold her all the time, but as soon as we lay her down, she starts to fuss and "growl." This eventually escalates to a total meltdown if we don't pick her up right away. She sleeps in our room, so we hear everything she does, and she has no desire to sleep with us, just wants to be held and/or rocked all night long! Ugh! I love the snuggle time, but we both need to sleep more soundly than 20 interruptions every night. So, we're praying that this phase passes quickly, and that we are in tune to what she needs from us. Well, I've babbled, and there is much housework to catch up on now that the weekend is here. I'll try to download some more photos later this weekend.
